Protecting your personal data matters to us. This policy explains which data we collect on marielouise-paris.com, why, how long we keep it, and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
The website marielouise-paris.com (the "Site") is operated by:

2. The data we collect
- Identity and contact details: first and last name, shipping and billing addresses, email address, phone number.
- Orders: products purchased, amounts, purchase history, exchanges with our customer service.
- Payment: your banking details are processed directly by our secure payment providers (Shopify Payments, Klarna, PayPal, Apple Pay among others). We never have access to your full card number.
- Browsing: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
- What you choose to share with us: reviews, replies to our emails, newsletter sign-up, participation in an offer.
3. Why we use it
- To process, ship and deliver your orders; to handle payments, refunds and exchanges (performance of the contract).
- To answer your requests through customer service (performance of the contract).
- To send you service emails: order confirmation, delivery tracking, information related to your purchase (performance of the contract).
- To send you our newsletter and offers by email or SMS (consent; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each message).
- To invite you, after a purchase, to leave a review on Trustpilot (legitimate interest: collecting your feedback; you may ignore this invitation or object at any time).
- To measure audience, improve the Site and test new versions (consent for the cookies concerned, legitimate interest for aggregated statistics).
- To show personalised advertising, in particular through Meta, Google, Pinterest, Snapchat and TikTok (consent).
- To prevent fraud and keep the Site secure (legitimate interest).
- To comply with our accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation).
4. Who has access to your data
Your data is accessible to our team, and to our processors strictly for the purposes described above:
- Shopify (e-commerce platform and hosting of the store);
- Klaviyo (sending our emails and SMS);
- our payment providers (Shopify Payments, Klarna, PayPal among others);
- our logistics partners and carriers, to prepare and deliver your orders;
- our audience measurement and site improvement tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Triple Whale, Intelligems among others);
- our advertising partners (Meta, Google, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok among others);
- Trustpilot, if you choose to leave a review.
Klarna acts as an independent data controller when you choose to pay with its services (in particular for assessing your creditworthiness) and processes your data under its own privacy policy.
We never sell your personal data.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Some of our providers (Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta, Google, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok, Microsoft among others) process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by safeguards recognised by the European Commission: the "Data Privacy Framework" adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices: 10 years (accounting obligation).
- Customer account and data used for marketing: 3 years after your last contact with us.
- Customer service exchanges: 3 years.
- Cookies and trackers: 13 months maximum.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights over your data:
- right of access (obtain a copy of your data);
- right to rectification (correct inaccurate data);
- right to erasure;
- right to restriction of processing;
- right to object, in particular to direct marketing;
- right to data portability;
- right to withdraw your consent at any time;
- right to set instructions on what happens to your data after your death.
To exercise these rights, write to us at info@marielouise-paris.com. We will reply within one month. In case of reasonable doubt about your identity, proof of identity may be requested.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
8. Cookies
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies (audience measurement, advertising). You can change your choice at any time through the Site's cookie settings or those of your browser. Cookies strictly necessary for the Site to work (cart, session, security) do not require consent.
Cookies and trackers used on the Site, by purpose:
- Site operation (cart, session, security, language and currency preferences): Shopify. No consent required.
- Audience measurement and site improvement (visit statistics, anonymised session recordings, testing of new versions): Google Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Triple Whale, Intelligems.
- Personalised advertising and campaign measurement: Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Google Ads, Pinterest, Snapchat, TikTok.
- Emails and SMS (recognising subscribed visitors, cart reminders): Klaviyo.
Non-essential cookies are only set after your consent and are kept for a maximum of 13 months.
9. Security
The Site uses TLS encryption (https) on all pages. Payments are processed by PCI-DSS certified providers. Access to your data is limited to the people who need it to carry out their tasks.
10. Minors
The Site is not intended for people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Site or to regulations; the update date at the top of the page prevails. In case of a significant change, we will inform you.
